It just so happens...

I am currently modding my dash to fit my JVC double din head unit into the din and a half space. I fabbed an aluminum plate to bolt the frame into place, and slid the JVC in. I had to cut out the back stop where the rear stereo support would go. I was afraid the JVC would contact the air ducting, but it JUST FIT. The head unit could NOT be ANY bigger, or it would not fit.

I had to cut out the switch area on the faceplate (will have to relocate the ARS and Fog Light switches). I intend on shaping the faceplate with fiberglass, then beadblasting the whole thing, then finding some paint that will match the interior.

I got a little overzealous when cutting out the faceplate, I kinda wish I had not cut out the part directly above the environmental controls, but what the heck. I'll look for another faceplate to cut on if I'm not happy with the way this one turns out.

looks good

what year camaro is that? you have the a/c and heat controls on the bottom of yours but mine are on the top. so i guess i will have to get creative and figure something out. i really want to put my pioneer avic d3 in so i will try to go to the junk yard and get 1 or 2 spare bezels that cover the radio so if i mess up on the first one i have a few more to get it right.....LoL
