It doesn't but I think there is a module for it that will allow fm radio and TV.

Youll need 2 modules to get the main functions AND TV. That piece is absolutly useless with out the brain, or a slave unit. I had that exact piece in my car a few months ago, with the 8000 series processor. These pieces will run an extra $4-600 easy. The 9000 is the best, but the 8000 is pleanty.

When you get one of these modules, youll have all the functions as a normal stereo. It is your amp/tuner/preouts etc etc.

This is the only pic Ive managed to save since Ive had a host and 2 hard drive crashes in the past little while. This unit now resides in my buddys Impala. It is definatly a great piece.

So what your saying this is kind of a waste of money without at least one of the modules ? So if I got this unit and popped in a dvd it wouldn't play?

Thanks

I think he is stating that w/o a radio, he deems it useless?? I was kinda confused on that one too but I think he was just making a point. It will play DVDs without any modules.

when you buy that, you have to buy a master unit. It's basically the brain of the whole system and has the 5.1 decoder if you go with the AVM9000R...which I have. I would suggest if you do plan on buying this that you do go with the 9000R rather than trying to go the cheap way and buy the 8000 or 7000R's. You can check out my sig and see mysetup though I do have a DVD changer rather than the indash DVD player. I've got the CD player up front and the master unit has the am/fm tuner, amp, and all the decoder you need to play dvd's

I don't think you are going to find an all in one unit. There is just too much hardware to fit in that small space. Even if you do it certainly won't cost less. if anything it'll be more.

really, you need to do your reseach on this rather than looking for what is cheaper. this is a big purchase so I suggest know what you want to see out of your system and know which setup will give it to you. Also, keep the pros and cons in mind. Don't get me worng, Clarion is good DVD system, but I am still againts the touch screen. As I've said many times, even though the screen is suppose to be scratch proof...never is. Also, until the warranty reads, "Will replace when your stupid friend pushes too hard on the screen and screws up the HU motor," I will still stay away from touch screen for that reason. Right now, no factory warranty will cover if you push too hard on the screen and damage the screen motors...

just my opinion

like I said...do your research and start checking out the manufacture websites. I just happen to like the Pioneer DVD setup. I'm not saying it's the best, but it suits my needs There are going to be pros and cons on every equipment you choose, it's just finding the ones with the least amount of cons will be the problem

Ol Pauly boy hit the nail on the head. I would have never gotten mine if I didnt score the whole thing uber cheap. Youre obviously set on spending X amount and you want it all. Buddy, thats not gonna happen. Once you compromise quality for price, its all down hill. Trust me, Ive installed it all.
