Question do your ac/fan dials light up?

I have a 95 Trans Am and the dial markers on the three A/C, temp, and fan dials do not light up...

I think they're supposed to b/c it's mighty hard to know where they're pointing at night...

Anyone? If so, how do you remove & replace the bulbs?

Thanks. Brian

Mine do. Pull off the stereo surrounding bezel, then the 2 bolts holding the HVAC onto the console. At the top of the HVAC there should be two bulb holders -one in between the fan speed and the heat control, and one in between the heat control and the vent selection switch.

I just put in 2 new bulbs myself a few weeks back, and (going from memory) the bulbs needed are 74's. You'll want to pull yours out and be sure that is the correct number though. And be prepared to look around for them. Napa was the only local store here that had them.

For clarification i'm asking about:

THESE **** LIGHTS (marked in green)

Thanks Lower, but the bulbs on the console that you're talking about still work... it's the dial-indicators that don't light. My friends '01 SS have lit-*****.

Hmm, this is an interesting thread. I checked the HVAC controls on my 1999 Trans Am Firehawk, and both the dials and the "indicators" light up. The dials have a line on each that lights up (the line that you have indicated in your picture). Maybe some bulbs are burnt out, or maybe this was a change GM made over the model years. Anyway, on my 1999, the lines on the dials glow red.

I would imagine that you would have to obtain the HVAC unit from a newer model Firebird, and transplant it into your car. Check with wreckers, you should be able to pick up the HVAC controls for a reasonable price.
