Stereo worked fine one minute, dead the next! I had been listening to a tape prior, got home & parked the car. Left again, maybe 10 min later & now the stereo won't work at all. There are no lights or clock. All I get is static. Checked the antenna & fuses, every thing is fine. I even tried the tape again and still more static. WHAT IS UP?? This is a stock Delco.

 

You answered your own question right there. The stock HU has proved time and time again that it is NOT a reliable unit. Time to upgrade to a far superior after-market setup like an Alpine for instance.

 

Now the darn thing is working again! Hmmm... I will be upgrading to another system, just not sure what yet. Hope it holds out till I do.
