Courtesy lights and alarm mess
Courtesy lights and alarm mess
Im trying to undo all the crap from the previous owners of my car.
So I have no courtesy lights, or factory alarm functions.
Panic from the remote does work.
No horn chirp upon 2nd press of remote lock button.
I know there was previously an aftermarket alarm in the car, leftover relay block behind passenger kick panel (I removed it when I repaired the RAP relay in the BCM)
Does anyone have the wiring diagrams for a 1999 camaro that include the courtesy lights and the factory alarm wiring?
I could really care less about the alarm but really want to get my dome lights back.

Well after spending my afternoon working on the car. I have deemed that the issue with the dome lights is inside the BCM. (I had this issue previous to my RAP relay solder job.)
So I wired in a relay to simulate the functions. I didnt cut any wires, just tapped into power, chassis ground, dome light ground, and the signal wires from the switch, doors, and trunk.
The lights dont turn on when unlocking the doors, but I can live with that. I may work on that feature with an aftermarket alarm at a later date.

They probly just programmed off the factory alarm. Im sure the procedure is available: something like door open, key on, off, pull radio fuse, key on, push unlock button and listen for how many door chimes... Its been too many years since I last did it.
I did a google search for "camaro alarm programming" and it got me instructions via lastofthebreed.com
Worked great! I dont have the exit lighting and illumination features (due to the BCM problem) but everything else works as it should!
Thank you!!!
