Complete Replacement/Addition of Speakers!

Alllright. I'd like to get some experienced opinions and answers to some questions. I would like to do the following:

2 12" subs enclosed in SubThump box allowing T-tops...(Loaded already with the speakers from subthump.com, I believe they are the elemental design ones..)

I'd also like to upgrade all the other speakers in the car, as I'm missing one, the other is 'popping' and the two in the back seats might as well be replaced too; I don't know about the ones in the hatch but hey why not?

My questions areee..

What kinds of speakers are good to use for SOUND QUALITY in the passenger areas (doors, backseat, hatch speakers)

What "ohm load" is best when choosing all these components? I have the stock factory head unit and as far as I know nothing has been messed with except for the fact that one speaker is missing It does not have the Monsoon system.

I've read that the factory head unit may not sound as good as an aftermarket one, but I don't care. I want to keep the factory unit and I'm sure I have to match up ohm loads or SOMETHING with that unit, between it, the speakers, and the amp.

So, what I'm looking at right now is the factory head unit, 2 12" subs (2 or 4 ohm) and then component speakers surrounding the passenger compartment (I'm guessing each at 2 or 4 ohm as well if they are measured that way...) And what is meant by "channels" when referring to the speakers?

Alright after a little more websearching how does this sound to make it a little more summed up...

From Subthump: 2 12" enclosure with (2 ohm, 300-500watt RMS) subs loaded, elemental design amp 900X1 @ 2ohm; then 2 ohm component speakers all around? Is that the way this needs to be set up to work correctly? Would it be a good idea to get a 2nd amp for the regular speakers to the subs get their correct amount of power? And is the elemental design stuff even good?? I don't see it anywhere, ever...

For $1500 you should be all set.

I would use a PAC OEM-1 to provide RCA inputs to the amps. 1 amp for the 4 main speakers (Doors & Sail Panels) & 1 for the Subs.

I personally would also recommend replacing the Head-Unit as well, but I ran a PAC OEM-1 for about 3 years and it works out fine if you want to keep the original Head-Unit. I just feel like the control over sound adjustments, especially for subs and the addition of Ipod or Satellite radio controls are worth the changeover.

I run a single 11.K.2 Sub (10") in a stealth box, and it hits nicely with only 200 RMS, so I'm sure that 2 12s will probably be overkill. I would go entirely Elemental Designs for amps, subs, and main speakers. You'll have no problems with Quality, and their prices are pretty decent. Although I would get the loaded box from Subthump Directly... just easier
