Why is it when i plug my radar detector into the cig lighter in my 86 z-28, it blows the fuse, sometimes right away sometimes after a lil bit. The radar detector is a Passport 7500, and it has a habit of shutting off and turning on again when i go over bumps... could that be the problem? but once again it does sometimes blow the fuse right away when i plug it in... thanks in advance

 

Sounds like its the radar detector, try plugging it in in a different car to see if the fuse blows. Does the fuse ir ur car blow when u plug other stuff into it?
