Question CD Player randomly stops working? Help

I have a '97 SS with the factory Delco CD Player. Randomly while driving my radio will stop playing, no display, nothing, as if it has been unplugged. During this time I have also noticed that my windows will not respond to the switches. A couple minutes later my radio will kick back on and everything will be fine. It's starting to annoy the hell out of me and I have no clue where to look. All the fuses appear fine.

This is just a possibility. The RAP circuit keeps the radio, windows... powered after the key is turned off until the door is opened. I would guess the problem might be there.

I turned the volume down a bit and it's not doing it. I think I might've been overheating it.

Lightbulb

Check for corrosion on the fuses in the fuse block in the car.

Sounds like there is a self resetting circuit breaker that is tripping. Check that for corrosion and possibly replace it. It may be getting old and has a high resistance that is tricking the thermal overload into tripping early.

Yeah, go on eBay type Camaro radio, and some results will come up. I found 14 matches. Or Craigslist.

Re: CD Player randomly stops working? Help

I was looking for an old thread I started and noticed this thread in my search. Figured I'd update it with a resolution for anyone searching in the future.

The problem ended up being bad solder joints on the BCM. I pulled the BCM, used de-soldering braid to remove the solder and resoldered the joints.
