CD changer

I have a 94 Z28 with the factory Delco/Bose CD head unit. Can anyone tell me for sure that a factory 12 disk changer from a 97 Z28 will be compatible with my HU? I hear there is already a wire harness back there to hook to. Can I control the changer from my HU?
Just in case it matters any, my dash CD unit is crapping out - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Will that have any affect on the rear CD changer?

Appreciate the help.

There sure is a 12 disc factory changer that hooks right up. The problem is that it goes for close to 600 dollars new and around 200 on ebay with out a conected cable. just get a 200 dollar rf unit.
