Car alarm disconnect

Appearently my car used to have an alarm system, that was dissabled ( by snipping some wires ) by a dealership when the car was traded in by the original owner ) I have found the brain and most of the wires. I know it is an audiovox ( couldnt find model number ) but it has the door lock thing AA-5198. I beleive that parts are still hooked up and working, like the starter cut off.

How can I remove this? can i unplug everything from the brain? I am affraid to screw somthing up and dissable my car entirely. The manuals i have found have been useless.

Depends how it was wired up. If there was a normaly open switch wired into the ignition then removing the alarm might disable the ignition.

If this is the case there will just be a relay in line with the the starter wire from the ignition which you will need to bypass.

Does the alarm not just have quick disconnect connectors on it, so you could remove it and try it out. If you have problems just plug it back in.
