I bought a '95 Z that I believe was originally a Bose system. Most of the components were missing (HU,speakers, amp thingy in the rear sidepanels), so I bought a simple Sony XPlod system and want to install it. I installed the HU with a Scosche adaptor, but nothing comes through the new speakers. I tried searching this forum and it mentioned rewiring the car. Is that the problem?

My HU worked just fine using your everyday 88+ GM harness adapter with my Bose. either way I ripped everything out and ran all new speaker wire and installed all new speakers with an Alpine 4-channel amp.
