Bose sub with aftermarket headunit

i bought my car from a small dealer a while back. didnt come with even a radio just 2 front speakers. i told the guy not to worry about it. i went in and put my 600dollar pioneer in it and put new speakers all the way around. I hard wired all the new speaker right to the wire harness from the headunit. So i have the bose sub is there anyway i can get it to work with my headunit

i can't exactly remember what i had wired to what with my alpine running the bose sub but i bet you could wire it with a rear speaker and get it to work. that is a p.o.s. "bass" speaker anyways, upgrade to some real bass from a subwoofer.

the bose sub is a 6.5" component that only recieves bass signals, just put a 10" in there.

i had to 12 inch kicker L7s with a kicker 1200 mono amp. that was loud but i have the sub laying around i just want something mild. PLus if i buy a 10 inch and use the q logic box then i need to buy another amp and go from there. i dont really want the hassle

Re: Bose sub with aftermarket headunit

this is what i did to get all the bose stuff working.. its really weird but some reason it worked this way.

used an adapter harness and the rear speaker leads are what powered the bose sub.
i dont think it was on my car but once a customers car (i install stereos) with the bose gold system i had to cut the negative leads off the rear speakers (at the harness for the stereo) once these where disconnected everything worked.

so basically if you can hook up the rear speakers it shoudl work.. also make sure you get the amp turn on wire hooked up (its the pink wire on chevys and goes to the blue/white wire from your stereo). that shoudl make it work

well for instance today i just hooked up the remote wire to the blue wire from the stock wiring and yes it played the sub but it seemed like it took away all the power from the 4 other speakers
