Digital Audio Mid-Bass Driver

Well, let me just say that I am very impressed with these! They sound very good and were exactly what I was looking for...something that added some good punch without having a sub. I plan on adding a sub soon, but these are almost all I need. I cant imagine what they would sound like if I was giving them another 100 watts or so! I got them Low passed at 300hz right now, and they sound real good. Anyways, these things are MASSIVE I was told earlier that they were big, but OMG! Here are some pics of them side by side with my old speakers I was using...yeah, I know, they are crappy Pioneers, but alot better than stock!

And as far as mounting them, they almost dont need any screws to hold them in the magnet keeps them securely planted..thats how close to the rear wall they get! But I drilled 3 new holes to mount them. I plan on going back and doing it a little better probably, but right now they are in there REAL good. Heres how it looks in.

Anyways, thought id share with you guys! So far these speakers ROCK and im VERY impressed. They have a 3ohm impedence and are 200watt RMS rated. Right now im only giving them about 70watts or so. So i cant imagine what closer to 200 would sound like.

Looks good, but i'd chill out on those screws, they're distorting the surround!

Actually they're not; the speakers have a very thick rubber gasket on them, and that's what you see distorting.

I'm feeding them ~125Wrms, and they are sweet speakers.

Way too much highs for me, as well as having highs behind the driver which totally destroys the sound imaging, and 6x9s which aren't as clean as a 6.5" or similar round driver for mid-range.

And rear passengers? wow... I couldn't fit anyone but a amputee back there; now I can't fit anyone with the Roll-bar and stereo/N2O where the back seat was.

HAHAHAHHAHA. Yeah the highs get annoying at times. I just tune them down a bit since i have a couple tweeters on the dash. As for the backseat..i dont have many people sit back there....THAT is only one reason why. lol

oh yeah, so are those pretty expensive?

and btw, you seem like u may know some facts... can you post a reply on my "Volume" thread i had posted today?

They ran me about 80 shipped on ebay. And are your 6x9's powered by a seperate amp? I had 4ways behind me previous to these, and i didnt like them and with a good set up front, you definetely dont need anything but fill in the rear.

Re: Digital Audio Mid-Bass Driver

my 6x9s are powered by my head unit. its a pioneer premiere 55wattx4. Its decent and gets the job done. Im thinking about going back to mids in the rear (and adding an amp with that).. they way they were before the 6x9's (w/o an amp), although i'll have to do some fiberglassing probably...ugh. or not, i think it wont hold on metal due to weather changes. When i first started looking for deep bass mids in the rear, they didnt make any that fit - depth wise.
