bose

i know we talk F-bodies here but this a question for any GM. is it true that on the newer GM Bose stereos, you cannot replace the head unit without buying all new speakers? i want the Alpine in dash DVD player for my silverado, but people are telling me i cannot use it with factory Bose speakers. i replace the Delco tape deck in my 96 Camaro with Bose speakers, with an alpine Cd player, and just needed to spend a few extra bucks to get it to work, but the guys at best buy are saying thats no longer possible on newer GMs with Bose. anyone know something they dont or any ways around this? does this sound true? any help would really. . . well . . help lol
