which is better?

I have know two guys who are audio dealers, one does Kenwood, the other does RE audio, and Zapco.

For amps, Zapco or Kenwood (to Power the components)
For components/speakers (not subs), RE audio, Zapco or kenwood.
For a head unit, Clarion or Kenwood (DXZ275 or KDC-X591 or KDC-MP532).

I have both friends saying theirs are better, so let me know!

I would say:

Kenwood amp
RE Audio speakers
Kenwood head unit

RE Audio makes some amazing stuff. Kenwood has fallen in quality over the last couple of years, but are still better then Zapco!

So Kenwood doesn't make very good components/speakers? I'm trying to keep on a budget, and am getting awesome prices on these parts.

Clarion head unit, Zapco amp, listen to the speakers and choose which sounds best to you.

Clarion head, Zapco amps and Zapco Components. Zapco is one of the elite car audio brands. They were started in 1974 by Robert Zeff who now designs Arc Audio amps. They have been building quality products longer than most companies have been around. They are not cheap but are very reliable and sound leaps and bound ahead of most. Kenwood amps are not even in the same league as Zapco. Zapco started making speakers about two ears ago. They are designed and made in Italy by their sister company USB. Even their cheap stuff sounds awesome.
