The best sounding subwoofer?

I am going to buy 2 12" subs for my custom box for my camaro 1995. The thing is that I would like to get the cleanest bass sound possible. I was thinking about alpine R, JL, RF or Hifonics Zeus, Power Acoustik FURB/**** audiobahn subwoofers. Which one gives the deep and clean bass sound? I don’t want it to be extremely loud (jus loud enough so my neighborhood can’t sleep ...
Sebastian
Ps. I will be using 2 bazooka mono amplifiers with 600 RMS watts for each subwoofer
Thanks

This is strictly an opinion question, but for the best bang for the buck I would go with a set of Rockford HE2 subs. They are moderatly priced, and sound pretty good with the right amp behind them.

well if you want good sound.......take the power acoustik and audiobahn subs out of the list.

the other 4 you listed all sound pretty good, as well as brahma that someone suggested.

personally id get the brahma........very good sub, and a better motor assembly than the other 4. but its a tad on the expensive side

for a relatively inexpensive sub that sounds great and gets loud.....try
elemental designs
or
audioque

Best sound ever? Sorry guys. My vote goes to the JL W7. But by the other subs listed.... your not looking to spend that much. If you have enough $$$$ for the Brahmas then get those. If not, Elemental Designs.

now that was just a retarded suggestion..... when people ask for a SQ woofer the L7 is just out of its league.

DON'T say that.... I havn't been back to termpro to actually talk in about 3-4 years.... suppose i should check it out again, but i quit going there because of all the "9515 is god" mentality.

back on topic......
If you want deep and clean the Brahma is an excellent choice!!.

I guess you've never installed one correctly then...I've seen on 3 different occasions L7 winning SQ competitions...it's all in the install...but instead you decide to jump on here and insult, childish in my book...next time have a little more respect and say that you think the L7 wouldn't do good in SQ setup...

heh, i think i remember you..............i also used to frequent termpro 3-4 years ago...........back when "shocker" just came out......hehe, i was one of the first dealers.

i JUST recently started visiting termpro again...........now theres a big Resonant Engineering bandwagon, but DD still gets a lot of praise (i think its deserved).

the part i dont like about termpro is the large portion of teenage punks recommending and/or criticizing stuff theyve never even used. you just gotta filter their posts out.

agreed, i personally have ran the 9515's, JL's, RE XXX, audiobahn, to name a few.

but it's all in the install, i've heard some awesome sq from DD's and my XXX was tuned around 25hz and it rocked. my JL 12's sounded good but lacked in low bass, my JL 18's kill but would suck for hard rock with punchy bass, now the JL 10's are the absolute best for that punchy bass, never heard another sub hit them better.

i'd like to try the brahma, i've heard alot of good things about them.

for compitition i think i'm gonna try the beyond audio inhuman subs.

but the reason for my comment in the first place was the guy is looking for cheap subs that sound good. he doesn't have much power, JL's i think are the best bet. subs like brahma, DD, RE all need alot of power to sound good, they are in a class of their own...serious enthusiest primarily, for average people jl, fosgate ect are their ballpark.

oh and the W7's are overhyped and are a waste of money, i've seen a ton of blown ones, they're junk, spend your money on a quality hand built sub if you've got that kind of power.

as for kicker L7's i've heard some good setups and some crappy ones, the one i like was two 15's with 4 bd1000's on each
personally i don't care for them but to each their own.

As far as cheap subs...that doesn't take a lot of power to push them. I like the JBL GT series...I think you can get 2 for like $150 give or take...handle about 250 rms each...not bad subs...I had one in my toyota pick up...with the windows rolled up the back wall would bend in and out with the bass...not that it's really thick...but it's cool to watch

limige: ya...I liked about every L7 install I've seen...only about one JL...course I've not heard the W7 beast yet...no one around here can afford one but you said it best each to their own...

Let me just restate that compared to a real SQ sub the L7 is severely lacking. If you don't think so that is your problem, but i would suggest listening to something else. then you might realize just how muddy the sound is....

I have seen just about every sub at one time or another win an SQ competition, the question is that when you turn it up to levels that most people listen to them at.... well the L7 just isn't pretty. Most SQ winning systems can turn the sub off and still score very high, what does that tell you?

I would challenge you to do a side by side comparison with 500 watts.
Eclipse Aluminum, Brahma, Shiva, Type R, Perfect, and Elemental Designs K series, .

Brahma still sounds better than them all even with low power... seriously.

Havn't heard the DD9515 with less than 1200 watts so i can't comment on that.
