It could be McIntosh Labs.

I just bought the Alpine CDA-9827 HU and it sounds great. Moreover it has extensive audio customization features, plays MP3 and WMA, supports XM sattelite radio and integrates with Nokia cell phones. It costs about $240 US.

well i'm no pro on them, but the odds of dts and DD music coming into mainstream is slim to non. a decoder built in isn't going to make your music sound any better.

btw, 350 bucks for a headunit is FAR from expensive.

What sites have that head unit listed, i checked crutchfield and they only have teh dxz945mp, which doesn't have the specs you listed and is twice the cost. it says dolby pro logic II, and which as far as i know i've never heard of digital dolby II, theres dolby digital, dolby digital ex, ARE YOU SURE YOU KNOW YOUR SOUND SYSTEMS??

Digital Dolby II is the next generation Dolby Digital, it's just starting to hit the market.

I'm waiting for a SACD player to come into the automotive market, I believe the only one is in the Alpine F1 system. (Upwards of $4000 for the HU and Processor)

but back to my question, why this stuff without a dvd player? Since i got a bad answer.

I still can't find any info on digital dolby II, are you sure your not confusing this with pro logic II?
