Best bang for the buck 5ch amp?

Got some CDT speakers for my doors and my sail panels and a sub coming within the next couple days. I plan on using a 5 channel amp to power them all. Any suggestions?

The CDT for the doors have a 80Watt rms and the sails have a 90watt rms.The sub is a MTX(got cheap from a buddy)that has a 225 watt rms. That Mtx amp looks a little under powered. I have been looking at the Hifonics Zeus ZXi8006 and the Soundstream XTA600.5 that I can get for around 180.00. Then agaian,if I change out the door speakers and get a sub,do I really need the sail panels? I mean as of now they are ok,but would replacing them be a difference?

2 of those maybe? u have to remember that the older amps were rated at countinous power and the new ones at peak, this make a big difference. you can't go wrong with the old blue thunder series amps or ppi!

I have been using a 5-channel Hifonics amp for the last 3 years w/ good luck. It's powering four 6.5" Infinity's along w/ a 10" JL Audio sub no problem.

This is the one I own:

Look into a Kicker 5 channel. The sub output is over 400 easy. The other four channels are over 50 watts cea rated each.

Critter I can't believe you would recommend that junk to ther people seeing all the problems you have had with yours.

MTX 4405 normally goes under $100 on ebay. And I wouldn't touch anything from modern PG at all... Outsourcing at it's finest. I would be surprised if you can get old PG Titanium 5-ch for less then $600-$800, those was hand-made, over engineered, used BJTs outputs, sound is amazing. Can't say anything about ED amp, but would be more then happy to evaluate it.

Sorry didn't even read what you wrote besides the word cheaper, thought you were referencing the amp linked.

All this stuff is giving me a headache. I replaced the factory monsoon speaker in the sail panels with another 6.5 midbass and I could tell that the factory ones put out alot more bass.Yes,they were 4ohm and running off the monsoon amp.Just wanted to see how they would sound. I have been debating as to whether or not I want to just keep the Monsoon midbass speakers since they are ok,and just replacing the front door speakers and running them off my Eclipse hu and then get a sub with a mono amp and be done with it.Then again,I may just keep it all and get a sub.
