bad stock amp?

I was wondering if it is possible for my stock amp in my 2001 camaro SS that has a totally stock audio system to have gone bad. I believe that this is why fuzz in the speakers has been occuring for over a month now and swapping the head unit and speakers has no effect on the sound quality. Unless I can find a stock amp at a reasonable price is it possible to replace the stock amp with an aftermarket one and without cutting too many wires and still retaining the stock appearance?

if it is a bose amp then u have to rewire every thing.
but the fuzzy noise could be from the wires.
if u have 2 wires touching it will make that noise.

I have the monsoon amp and I don't understand how 2 wires could be touching since everything is still stock and I haven't messed around with anything.
