Tweeter In A-Pillar Help

I want to mount my tweeter flush to the a pillar. I'm sure its easy to do, but what I want to know is how to remove the A-pillar, I have T-Tops.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is for removal of a-pillars in either a T-TOP OR CONVERTIBLE ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Items you will need:
-#2 Phillips head screw driver
-beer or other favorite beverage

First, remove the t-tops (or fold down the top if this applies to you). For T-tops, place neatly somewhere out of the way. (behind the car is not a good idea as you may forget and back over your t-tops leaving you very upset and probably having to come on here making up stories of how they blew off your car while locked or something)

Next, have some of that beer or other favorite beverage...you'd just done half the work...you should reward yourself.

OK, down to the meat of this operation...Take your #2 philips head screw driver and undo the 2 screws at the very top of that A-pillar. When you get those out...put them somewhere you won't forget...maybe in the cupholder...that's a nice spot. Oh...and since you are putting them in the cupholder...you'll have to pick up that beer or other favorite beverage if it's there...Might as well take a break! Cause buddy...you're almost done!

Now comes the last step of removing these A-pillars...and quite possibly the hardest part. Put one hand near the top of the A-pillar...and the other hand farther down. Now...as if you were INSIDE the car, in the same motion, pull UP and OUT. Basically...just pull the darned thing off! It's held on there by 2 metal clips and those 2 screws you should have already taken off.

With all this said and done, you should feel free to finish off that beer or other favorite beverage if you haven't already done so. You've worked hard for it. You now have your A-piller off and are ready to mess it up.

Thanks..........................I think................We're you making fun of me, or having fun with me?

I was posting the question to see if I needed to remove the entire dash and dash pad.

Thanks for the help!

Now where is my frikin' beer?

Oops! It was behind my chair on the floor and I just rolled over it!

Are you thinking of mounting them flush pointing at the windshield like the new Chevy trucks? Cause right now I have them pointing cross car at the base of the A-pillar, but I'm thinking of mounting them flush pointing at the windshield. I don't want to put a hole in them and find I don't like them there.

Based on some audio research, I am going to place the speakers as deep into the A pillar as I can (as close to the windshield as possible) facing each other. Then slightly tilt them at the windshield using the flush mounts. My theory is that the sound will build in the front and reflect back at the driver and passenger. Our cars have that strange terrarium look, a huge open dash pad that can reflect sound.

This is my plan.... It might change.

Once you get them installed I'd love to check out how the installation looks. And I guess I can't hear them, so if you could tell me what you think of the sound. Also what speakers are you mounting? I have Focal 165K2 than I recently purchased and they are awesome, but flush mount is flush mount, you can't point them other than just on the plane you mounted them.

Thanks,
Brian

Don't be so damn stupid! I thought that by creating a new thread you would get more responses, so if you get offended YOUR THE JERK.

You and your wife should finally move out of your parents basement, act like grown-ups, buy a house, sell her Camaro and let the guys on this board who treat their cars with passion Post and Reply without having to deal with REDNECKS like you!

And further more, get in your 1989 Dodge Caravan, drive to your former High School and re-enact the most memorable days of your life on the Football Field, where you and your idiot, simple minded friends thought it was cool to do bottle tokes out of old budweiser cans!

Don't call me or any other person a Jerk you spineless POS!

Sincerely
Pure

You could have simply stated that you weren't trying to be a jerk, and were attempting to help get more responses to my question, rather than turn it into a personal attack.

You are cetainly a roll model for keeping the board polite and professional.

What made YOU think that I was being a jerk. How in my wording did it appear I was asking you to "bugger off?"

I don't get it.
