Audio advice for a Jeep GC...please give some suggestions!

I'm basically a 100% n00b at car audio. I want a system that will have a great kick and good performance but don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I drive a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and don't really even know where to start. For starters, I'm trying to figure out if I want to go with dual 12" subs or a single 15" sub. I don't even know where to start with amps either. If anyone could just give some basic advice and possibly some good suggestions on products/price, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I would like to find a decent Pioneer head unit and I do plan to replace the speakers as well. As weird as this sounds, I want it to have the POTENTIAL to give me a ridiculous head ache, but I don't want to sound like a 1970 DeVille with 1000 speakers, rattling and shaking the nearest buildings in sight. Trunk space isn't THAT big of a deal to me. I can handle giving up some area.

I recently signed up at Jeepsunlimited they have pretty good info there. I do believe your biggest problem will be the infinity crap you'll have top work around, although I read somewhere in there about how to use it, there is also a thread on how to replace those crappy dash speakers (which will blow, guaranteed) with 3.5" replacements.

Edit: just checked your pics, how do you like your halos as far as light output is concerned.

I would recommend putting 6.5 components in the doors with tweeters up in the dash. Get some new speakers in the rear and a nice 4 channle 70wrmsX4 or greater to power your speakers and do like 2 12s ported off 1k watts rms and you should be golden. Check out edesingaudio.com they have great stuff at killer prices. For components also check out CDT, Polk DB or Momo. Also check out alpine typer for subs
