Attempting 12" stealth box...

I will be attempting to make a 12" sub enclosure for the cubby hole in the hatch area. I can't find anything online about anybody ever doing this, so if anyone has seen this or has pictures, I'd appreciate it.

I made a custom wooden box with a 10" that fit perfect, looked good, and sounded decent. I just want a little more thump.

I have a 12" Alpine Type-R, it's a deep thumper. Gonna pair it up with a nice 400-800W amp.

I will be attempting a fiberglass enclosure. I'll be picking up the resin, and resin cloth tomorrow.

I'm just worried about how round it is, and how narrow the enclosure area is toward the bottom. I'm thinking once I get the back mold setup, I'm going to install the Sub Ring on a slight angle so the face of the sub is facing DOWNWARD. Just slightly downward.

I'm sure the Sub ring will have to be sticking out a little bit closer to the t top area to clear the plastic that holds the rear hatch speakers.

You could add another 10" Stealth Box in the Passenger Side:
Subthump.com Boxes

Or go with a Monster 10" Sub from Elemental Designs

I have the 11KV.2 and without a doubt it's got quite a bit of punch with my measly 280 Watt amp.. I'm sure the 11Ov.2 with 500 - 600 Watts would rock the car

I had a 10". I don't want another 10". I don't care what other people say, I've ran other 10"s with different amps, and even had 2 10"s in my conquest and there is a HUGE difference in the sound between the 10"s and 12's. I did 10"s because I thought 12"s would be impossible without compromising my t-top area.

My friend just bought a 12" Rockford P3 and a 400w Rockford Amp and it sounds INCREDIBLE. Mine isn't even close and I have a 480W amp bridged to a single 10" right now.

I gotta have that 12" sound now.

ive been looking all day trying to figure out how to mount this. I don't think it's going to work out well on the D/S. The box won't have enough space in it to sound great either.

I'm going to look on the other side. I didn't want to cut up my plastic, but I think I just might do that and make a wooden box.

Great link, thanks.

Well, I finally got off my *** and started on the box today. Cut my plastic on the passenger side and put it over there. It fits great, but it doesn't line up as nice with the plastic back there as I had hoped.

I'll be removing the 8 gauge you see in the pic and running some 4 gauge.

I bought an Alpine V Power m500 amp. Like in the name, it's a mono 500W RMS amp. It's supposedly top of the line and the best amp for this sub.

It came out pretty good though for just a couple hours of work.
