For anyone who knows car audio...

Well right now in my daily driver im running 2 12" memphis subs and an 800watt amp...I installed them about 6 months ago, but lately ive been getting some cracking from my front speakers so I had to fade em to the back, now I think im putting too much power into my back speakers...My question is, whats the best way to get the most bass out of my subs, and the least bass outta my speakers...I heard there is a way to set your bass to only your subs, but im a rookie when it comes to car audio. I've been messing around with my LPF, HPF, and Full setting but I cant get the right setting out of em. Any help would be great, thx.

you need to set your amp to LPF at about 80 Hz and put some bass blockers on the highs

you do need help! They are little caps that bloc kthe bass coming from the stereo. Another easy fix might be to lowere the bass on the radio and up the gain or eq some on the amp. BTW you werent over powering the rear speakers Ill bet you were just pushing them as hard as all 4 speakers were going before, but you had to turn the volume higher to get the higher sound out of 2 speakers and 2 1/2 volume ones

Well bass blockers are kinda the cheap way too block low frequencies from getting to your interior speakers. If you have a relativly good head unit or your using an external amp for you speakers it should have a High Pass filter on it. As far as what to set it at it depends on your speakers, generally I set them by listening to them with some nice lower kick drums and adjust them accordingly. If your headunit doesnt have an internal crossover or amp depending on what your running then as a last resort use bass blockers. You can find them at most best buys and circuit citys.
