Anyone Know Anything about Amplifiers?

Ok...I hooked my amplifier up...its a VR3 From Wal-Mart 400 WATT Amplifier.

So I bridged it to my 1 12" XPLOD...ok before it comes up yes, my amp is bridgeable.

OK..so it works fine for 2 days bam it sounds so damn good...then im driving down the highway next thing i know wtf...my sub is not working only speakers that are working is my in the wall ones.

so i messed with it for a while...and i couldn't get it to work...at first i thought i blew my sub..but i figg'd this was impossible cuz when i unhook the power from my amp...then tap the power cord to the amp where it was placed it Pops for a second like hums kinda the sub just a short Bump...and the power is working on my amp cuz the power light is on.

I'm really stumped but one sec its working next second no sub...

????????

I did the same thing to a pioneer. You just overloaded the amp and blew a circuit or two. It is fixable if you know a friend who does that stuff for cheap. I did it to my amp about 4 years ago and it pounded hard. After fixing it and a couple years later the amp now shuts off if I turn it up to loud. Time for a new one I guess

I honestly wouldnt be suprised if you blew your sub using a cheap wal-mart Amp. Cheap subs isn't too bad.. but a cheap amp is a huge no-no.

Check to see if the voice coil on the sub looks fried/burnt..

I had the same thing 95z is talking about happen to one of my Soundstream amps. I need to get it fixed..

Thats probably what it was
