Question Anybody tried tube amps?

Like Butler's: http://www.butleraudio.com/
I am thinking about getting one, still not positive... From what I heard, it's very impressive. How it compares to solid state ones like Audison, Helix, Brax, Tru? I appreciate any input. Thanks!

Re: Anybody tried tube amps?

I don't think a tube amp in a car is a very good idea myself. The amp may sound great but I don't think it would last long with all the heavy vibrations in a car. This could possibly lead to the tubes becoming microphonic and if that happens it can get pretty expensive buying new tubes all the time. For car audio I think it's best to stick with good ole reliable solid state amplifiers. Unless of course we're talking about guitar amplifiers. In that case it's tubes or nothing.

for the price your going to be paying for that amp, your getting ripped of rms watts. it looks to me as a waste of money. you can get more power for your money.

...
That's exactly what I am thinking about. One "standard" pothole in Bethesda + F-body will do it...
I am looking for something better then JL. I listened to Audison's in my co-worker car, and they sound awesome, but they cost even more $$$.
