Any other boxes?

Has anyone built a sub box that doesn't go in the t-top well, and isn't a "stealthbox"? How about a box that can be placed on top of where the gas tank would be and might be flush to the top of the back seat? Anyone seen somethin like this or tried it? I don't want to lose the space for the t-tops, and would have to build the box myself...money reasons.

I have seen a couple like this and I haven't liked any of them! Mostly because they have all been dual sub setups and it looks goofy sitting right there. The boxes are just too big and stick up to far. I guess if you wanted everyone in the world to know you had some subs, that would be good. It just screams "Steal Me!"

However...

I am going to be building a box for my new sub to go right there. I am getting an Elemental Designs e12K.44. The sub has a pretty shalllow mounting depth so my box will only stick up about 1/2 over the back seat, maybe less. Basically as little as I can get it too and still have enough room for the sub. Since the box will be so shallow, it will have to be fairly wide, which is not a problem, there is plenty of room to work with there. I also plan to hide the sub under some speaker cloth for a stealth look. I am still working out the details and I haven't ordered the sub yet. I will post some pictures once I get it installed.

Later,
Matthew

To cover the subs I thought about maybe getting something that can just slide over it, or maybe even just velcro something over the entire box that can be covered in like a grey cloth or vinyl to match the interior and have a red chevy logo on it.

Yeah I saw the milhouse boxes...but i could probably build my own box for a lot cheaper.
