getting new stuff + old monsoon

ok i have the monsoon system in my car (or so it says.) AND i have a blown speaker so im buying a new component set for the front (new 6..5's + tweaters) and ive read some weird stuff about the monsoons wiring. i think i read the 6.5's were wired at 6 ohms or something? anyways once i get the new stuff set in whats the wiring done at? and any recomendations for a new component set?

im a sound system nub. dont make fun

also i think im gonna buy my friends used 2 W3's and his box for like $120 and he said i could get a good 500x1RMS and it would power the both.. would that be sufficient and any brand recommendations?

/tek.

The fronts are actually 2 ohm not 6 ohm.

And in reality Id reccomend against getting a component set because the power that the amp puts out is not clean enough nor high enough for any decent component set.. Get a good set of lower power front coaxials, and IF the tweeters are shot look into a seperate pair of small tweeters like the Alpine SPS-1002 or Kicker R13.

I second that. Don't put expensive speakers on those amps.
If you are going to replace both the mid and the tweeter, go with a good inexpensive set. Maybe an Alpine, JBL, or Infinity. Stay away from Polk, Sony, MTX, etc.

Good Luck

Stay away from Infinity too for the tweeters.... Dont get me wrong their tweeters are great but they need a lot of juice or they sound like crap...
