Any head unit with same dimension or similar to stock?

I am looking for a head unit that will fit right into my car that will require no kit. I see that pioneer makes some GM sized head units. Will these units work on our cars. Any one have pics of a big head unit installed. I don't want those regular sized ones. Someone help me out.

F-bodies use a 1.5 din sized radio. Yes, the Pioneer units will fit. Alpine made some this size, but not sure they're still available. For a cheapie, you could check into Jensen.

go to some sites and put your car in. they'll give you an idea of what is a go and what needs adjustment or modification.

www.alpine1.com

www.sounddomain.com

I'm going to look at the Alpine CDA-7893 unit locally to see if it is a direct replacement.

The Alpine 7893 is a single din. You'll need an adapter.

Alpine's site listed it as 1.5 DIN. I'll find out for sure when I go to local shop. I know most Alpine units have an install kit. I think Crutchfield includes the kit and all necessary wiring harness and antenna adapters as part of the final price of the unit you purchase there.

I have the 7893 in my car, and trust me, it's single DIN

You can get a Metra flush mount kit for it. I think you'd be looking to spend about 10$ on one. If you're ready to spend 300$ on a deck anyways, what difference is 10$?

Here's a picture:

And you're not looking at any extra work with a mounting kit. You only need either 2 or 4 screws to go into the factory mounting holes.
