amps

i am trying to decide which kind of amp for my car. i was looking at either the zapco amp line or jl amp line. this is going to be for my 2 sets of mb quart premium's ( componets).

Re: amps

I like the Zapco amps more than the JL amps.

I'm currently using the following brands of amps with great sucess:

Kicker
Old-School Sony ES (Back when sony made good equipment)
Audiobahn (Flashy, loud fans, but has held up fairly well and performed decent)
JBL
HiFonics (Good product for the price, and great performance for the pricing)

I've got 5 different Hifonics amplifiers that I'm installing into 2 different vechiles this winter, 4 of them are Brutus BX1500D's...

Re: amps

I've heard decent things about autotek, but have never used them before...

That's a VERY serious amp for those components, hell I'm only running 100Wrms to a set of Adire Koda's and my ears are mad at me for how loud they get.

Can I ask why you are putting 2 sets of components into the car? You realize that the tweeters in the rear are going to royally screw up the sound imaging of the stereo.

Re: amps

I would just install the driver and not the tweeter in the rear sailpanels. That's what I did with my Adire Koda's, they offer the driver seperate from the components though.

I would use the supplied passive crossover though on those rear drivers even though you won't have the tweeter hooked up, it'll keep the really high frequencies from going to the driver w/o buying more stuff.
