Anyone got a suggestion on a good 400W RMS amp that i can get to power an audiobahn 10" 400W RMS amp? I am thinking of maybe Pyramid? those any good? BTW, i don't wanna spend more than 200 on an amp. Thanks!

 

Pyramid is garbage. Stick with well known brands like RF, MTX, etc. Stay away from brands like Pyramid, Profile, Rockwood, Kenford, etc.

 

alrighty then....got any suggestions on what i should get? i'm only gonna be powering 1 10" sub 400w RMS.

 

I'm using an MTX 6500D (600W@2ohms) on my 10" Alpine Type-S subwoofer. I highly recommmend a class D type subwoofer amp if you can find one in your price range.

 

What sub is it? if theres a way to run the sub down to 2 ohms, i just bought a kicker DX 350 (remanufactured) off ebay for $80. Its only 350 watts, but mine came with a spec sheet from the factory rating it at 391. This is, of course, if there is a way for your sub is a dual 4 ohm speaker. If its not, then don't get the amp b/c it runs at 175 watts at 4 ohms.

 

I've got a Profile that has been in use almost constantly since '96. It powered 2 JL 10's for me, 2 JL 10's in a bandpass box for my brother, and now 1 MTX 10 for him. ... and I bought it used!

I'd heard they were kinda cheap... but mine's worked for so long. Who knows... It's the white one in the middle.
