Amplifier wiring help

I was hoping someone can explain or show me how to run wire for my amplifier. I understand the wiring for subwoofers and so, but I have no clue how to run the wire to power the amp. I know it needs to go to the battery, but then I run into the problem of how I get it back to the amp. Where would the best way be to run this power wire from the battery to the amp? Thanks.

well if you goto your local wallmart or something like that and buy a amp wiring kit it makes it pretty easy... well its just simple you get about 12 foot long thick wire connect it to the battery and then find the place in ur firewall to bring it inside your car and run it under your carpet down your door side or your passenger door side and back to the amp and connect it.... with mine i just ran it threw the crack of the door it had enough room so i did it the easy way

i drilled a whole in my firewall... i know i shouldnt have, and i prob could have found one, but it works fine, and the wireing kit i have came with o-rings that you put in the whole you drilled and it makes the 4awg wire fit ferectly and very snug....then just run it to amp... 4gauge is prob best, to push 3 W6s 8 may not cut it..

On my LT1 I ran the wire through the hole in the fire wall right behind the PCM. The hole is more than big enough to fit a 4 guage wire.
