AMP install woes
AMP install woes
Hey everyone
tonight a friend and I installed an amplifier in my car... Ran the cables to amp and everything, and everything was fine except for one detail. The amp didnt have RCA speaker inputs, and im using the factory headunit. So what we did is we spliced the pos and negative cables from the rear right speaker and wired that up to the RCA cable. We plugged it in, no sound came out? What we need to do to get it to work? what is wrong etc etc thank you everyone

If the amp doesn't have RCA (low level) inputs, than you'll have to wire the deck directly to the amp using the "normal" (high level) wires.
You don't want to be splicing them helter skelter like you did -they are 2 completely different uses and voltage ranges (low levels are usually 2, but up to 6 volt, and high level inputs are 12 volt.
