Amp Install question

Hi, I am needing to install this amp. A MTX 2 channel amp to 2 10" subs. I know it is probably under powered, but I am not looking for much. The subs are 4ohm each. Do I just need to run L positive speaker to L positive Amp and the same for the R. Or is there a better way to run the wires to get more out of the amp.

Thanks in advance.

Charlie

Here are the specs on the amp.

RMS Power 14.4 VDC Input
Hi Level w/ Smart Engage
Low Level Input

Crossover(s)
Defeatable, 18dB/Octave, 85 Hz, selectable for High Pass/Low Pass
2 Ohm Load 75 w x 2
4 Ohm Load 37.5 w x 2
Bridged 4 Ohm Load 150 w
Dynamic Power 14.4 VDC
2 Ohm Load 100 w x 2
4 Ohm Load 50 w x 2
Bridged 4 Ohm Load 200 w

Ok, I was looking around on the net and from what I can see it says that if you run two 4ohm speakers in parallel you will get 2 ohms. Is that the way I need to do it? If so does that mean that I need to connect both positives and negatives to only one channel of the amp, like the Left side.

On the amp itself it shows a picture of 2 4ohm speakers bridged, where positive speaker wire to the right channel and negative speaker wire to the left channel and it says to not do it that way, so it that different than running in parallel?

Thanks,
Charlie

You're making it too complicated for yourself. With a 2-channel amp pushing 2 separate speakers (i.e. your subs), you need to keep it split. +- for left side, +- for right side. If you run left channel - and right channel +you are bridging the amp, which would be then set up for only ONE sub.
