After you install an aftermarket HU do the steering wheel buttons still work?

After you install an aftermarket HU do the steering wheel buttons still work?

I'm guessing they will not. If this is so, is there any way to hook them up so they will work once again?

You're right, they won't work. However, there is an interface you can buy that will restore that function. I don't recall the vendor or part number. Perhaps someone else will supply the info.

Do a search for PAC SWI-X

If your new HU uses an infrared remote control you can use the adapter to keep the use of your steering wheel controls.
