Adding OEM Changer to Stock Stereo

Im returing my stereo system to stock so that I can use my steering wheel controls. I want to buy an OEM 12 disc changer but my car did not come with one from the factory. I pulled the rear pannel off, I still have the plug for a changer. If I just plug one in will it work? Do I need a different radio to incorporate the changer?

I pulled the changer out of my 96 TA when I sold it, and plugged it into my 01 TA. Everything worked just fine.

Plug and play!!!

Re: Adding OEM Changer to Stock Stereo

all 97+ came prewired for a changer from the factory. there should be a plug on the drivers side underneath the plastic trim in the hatch area to plug in a delco changer. the mounting brackets though were not included with cars that did not come with the changer from the factory.

edit:
i guess i didn't answer the question. all you have to do is plug in an original cd changer to the original radio and it should work. i have a '97 and did this.
