adding 6x9's onto system

ok, i have a RF HU which is 40Wx4 (25W RMS X4) and it has a sub out and also 2 additional speaker outputs, out the back...

i'm hooking up the sub, and also have 2 6x9 boxes, but want to know how to hook them up, and how to power them... do i use the additional 2 outputs, and just plug and play (but will they have power...), or do i connect them to the sub/amp to get power/signal, or do i wire them in a different way.

any help would be greatly appreciated

You should have 4 speakers wired to the HU's speaker output wires a gray pair, white, green, and purple pairs, all with one striped wire respectively.

The sub goes to the RCA outs and if u wanted 6x9's you would need another amp connected to the rear RCA's, that would power them.

It has been discussed here, and im pretty sure the 6x9's wont do much

the 6.5's will sound better and there is no reason for 2 pairs of rear speakers, some guys arent running any, only reason for 6x9's is for a little extra bass, but u got a sub so u dont need it

You could also use ur amp in trimode if its bridged now to power the sub and capable of doing it, but that would require a whole bunch of passive crossovers, and its not worth it
