2002 monsoon Head unit

Sorry to ask this but i was wondering if the stock monsson head unit had RCA hook ups on the back to hook up to an aftermarket amp. If not how would i do it? I would pull it out and look myself but it has theft lock and i dont want to disable that so it wont work for the time being. Thanks for any help.

I doubt it. Your best bet would be to buy an aftermarket head unit.

Alternately, if you dont want to use an aftermarket HU, you can wire in a low pass filter (or high pass, i cant remember). Anyway, you wire that into the wires headed to your stock side subs. the little filter box has rca outputs on it, that send the low frequencies to your amp. this is asuming you want to use subs, and not push your components, seeing as you have a stock amp. I used this setup for a year, and it worked great for my two Orion 12's and my 500 watt amp.

There is no filter box. The POS Monsoon amp has speaker level inputs (no RCA connections) with an internal crossover. The amp is really more of a power booster than a true power amplifier. And NOT a very good one at that.

The best way to add on to the POS Monsoon system is by using the PAC OEM-1. This is a plug and play adapter that allows you to connect your new gear, whether it be a new HU or amp) to the factory wiring without having to splice any wires.

You have to buy the box, HA, sorry. I put mine near the amp in the back.
