I just bought 2 Jensen 12s with 525 watts each for my car. Someone told me that they sound horrible when turned up high. Anyone know if this is true? Are these goods subs? Also I got an 800 watt Sony Xplod amp. This guy also told me that this amp doesnt really push out 800 watts. Is this just bs hes telling me? Thanks

 

Sony does overrate their amps...Jensen subs wouldn't be my first pick...even if they were free. Overall...it should sound allright

 

Most likely you won't be pushing 800 watts. It all depends what ohm load you are running in your system.
The more watts you are pushing, the better it will sound at higher volumes, it won't distort with more power.
Jensen is defiantly not a great brand in car audio but that Xplod amp will kick your ****!

 

So basically, I got a good enough amp but, sorry subs? What is a good sub for a reasonable price? Ive already got my box so it has to be 2 12s. Is the Aiwa cd player good?
