1995 keyless entry poor range
I literally have to have the key fob pressed against the window for it to work. Anyone ever encounter this? I checked the batteries in the remote and they read 3.2v and it's a 3v battery so I believe them to be good. Took apart the fob, cleaned it, checked all the contacts, fob looks like new.

Mine is pretty much the same way too, it's pretty damn frustrating. It's never had incredible range either, when I bought my car it didn't have any FOBs with it so I ordered one from the local Chevy dealer.

I can't imagine they designed it this way. Something has to be wrong. I just wish I could figure out if it's the module or the remote at fault. Unless someone comes up with something here, I think my next move is taking apart the module and hope I see something obvious like a broken antenna.

It's back to normal. The locks work as soon as I see the car in the parking garage at work and press the "unlock" or hatch button...about 90-100 feet or so.

I had the same problem, turned out to be the reciever. I had to replace it with an aftermarket setup because it died and left me stranded since I don't have a door key. I drove it to work and it was fine, I went to leave in the afternoon when it was hot outside and it wouldn't do anything. I got a ride home leaving the car. Next morning it unlocked with no problems.
It started with shorter range, even after replacing the battery in the fob. Then I was holding the fob right up against the glass, then it got to the point that it only worked when it was cold.

It wasn't the batteries in the remote. I didn't think it was but figured it was worth a try. I ordered another module and remote from ebay. I'll let you know which, if either of them, fixes it.

Well, I got my parts. It ended up being the receiver module or whatever you want to call the black box in the car at fault. Changed it out and it works like new.
