1995 Bose CD player problem..help?

I hope this is the right place to post this!

I have a 95Z w/ a Bose CD player. I am happy with it, and want to keep it there. But lately, it has been going in and out on me, and now, is gone I guess. B/c it won't display the time, or any kind of sound.

The time looks like this: -:--

You can turn the radio on, and you can see the volume line, but no sound, and it won't show a radio station or any kind of numbers. Just the -:--

The set button is basically useless. You can push Set, and see it come up, but it won't change the -:-- display.

If anyone has seen this before, or can help me out, I would appreciate it! I really hate riding w/ NO music, or not knowing the time (except cell phone) lol

Thanks!!

Well Angela, Im afraid you have been hit by a case of Bad Bose syndrome. Most of the time when something like that happens, its either the cd player circuit card or the wiring harness. If its cutting in and out, could be harness (another sign of when to change your deck) but if you cant set anything on there and no sound or cooperation with it means that the card in the deck is #1 not sending a signal to the speaker amps and #2 its time for a new deck. Im sorry to tell you that, but maybe other people have found cure to it? Some one correct me if I am wrong!!

Thanks and hope that helps...

James

i don't know if you're interested or not, but i've recently taken what was left of the bose system out of my 96z and replaced it all with aftermarket, when i bought it, the person tried to put all the bose back in but completely screwed it up. if you'll pay shipping and all of that you can have my cd player, i don't need it.

p.s. as far as i know the deck works just fine, if you need speakers i got those too, i just have one of the amps to the whole system, it was a nightmare, still have a long way to go to get the car to where i want it, but it's in good hands now.

Thank you all for replying! My email never did let me know there were responses until this morning!

I sent you an email lookiamtree.

I hope I can get this fixed soon, it is so annoying NOT having a radio! And I like my Bose.

Thanks

Angela, i'm gonna send you the cd player through the shipping department at work. The way i figure it, i'm overworked and underpaid, so they can afford the 3 bucks it'll cost them to send it. Just email me your address and i'll fedex it or ups it to ya!

What does the male plug in the wiring harness for Bose CD payer look like?

I dont believe my car has the right one. If someone could either describe it to me or send me a pic I would GREATLY appreciate it.
