1994 Camaro. No Speakers in sail panel area.

I purchased an aftermarket head unit and it is already in the car. However, everything else about the stereo system is stock. It came with the bose sub in the back and bose speakers in the front. I was curious what type of speakers I could put in the rear sail panel area. I heard GM designed the rear sail panel area for mid bass speakers only and you couldnt put any other type of speaker in there because of the way the stock amp is ran? I have my whole interior gutted because I just sprayed some 3m undercoating on the whole inside of the car to try and quite it down a little bit from road noise. So this would be the best time to install some new speakers.

Thanks for any input.

You can put any speaker you want there. Full-range, mid-bass or whatever, it doesn't matter. Personally I recommend no speakers behind the driver unless it's a subwoofer or two. GM didn't design anything except a hole in the B-pillar to mount a speaker.
