This is kinda a weird idea but could I get a deck and AC controls for a '06 vette from a dealership and put it in my '87 IROC? I am rebuilding my interior and I just like the looks of it. Would it work with my factory AC? THX for your help!

 

sure you could... it would be extremely expensive though. i have a double din with navigation in mine and i love the look as well but the price you will pay for gm there are so many other options. as for the climate setup that will take some custom work and i doubt anyone has ventured to rip their c6 apart enough to find out all the workings but try checking out the corvette forums.

Yeah I figured I would be paying a lot if I did that. I have an nice Alpine HU in it now, but it kinda looks out of place as with many aftermarket HU's. I tought about trying something different with my next interior design. As far as the AC, I have no idea how that works, wouldn't know where to begin. Thx for ur help!

 

well i would assume it works electrically like most of the newer a/c type controls where as the thirdgen works on vaccum and a rod. a little bit of work though and it should work. many people have gotten the 4thgen setup to work so i wouldn't see it hard to get a c6 setup to work if you wanted it to. imagination and skill is the limit.

Maybe I will ask around the local shops and see if anyone wants to tackle the climate control upgrade.

It probably won't be cheap. I gotta freind that works for a GM dealership so I can use his discount.

I also want to use the '06 vette vents (planning on designing and building my own dash outta fiberglass) and armrests from a newer camaro. I can only find graphite armrests tho, that is grey right? I want black.
