Car Sellers Beware, Possible Scam! Read This!!!

i received the following message from a member. it was sent directly to my email address. im usre this is a scam of some nature. it was sent from clement_consult12@yahoo.com a.k.a. clement consult john?
let me know if you all have heard of this guy.

Hello,I am very intrested in your car and mode of my
payment will be by certified check,so give me your
last offer and present condition of the car,Get to me
as soon as possible .pls do include all the websites
you paste it for sale for me to confirm you are a
geniune seller... Only serious reply needed.

Thanks for the information. I am sure the vehicle is
in good condition.This is all the requirements needed
at this time. The shipper will handle every other
thing necessary when he arrives your location. The
price is okay by me. I will like to pay the full
amount of $2000 for the vehicle plus an extra $100
for you to keep other buyers off till it is picked up
by the shipper. So please get back to me, and also
keep other buyers off. I will send you a check of $6000
Can I trust you to have it cashed, take $2100 and send
the balance to the shipper, so that the vehicle I
bought for my son can be picked up?
If yes,kindly reply with the
following payment details.
1]names and address you want on the bank check
2]phone numbers
Do Send the details to me now for the check to be
send you earlier and all the websites you paste the
vehicle for sale

This is a CLASSIC scam. Nothing new here, it's been around for many years.

I got the same email.... well, i deleted it instead of opening it but... now i know what it would've said anyway!

I also got this email after posting a car for sale on autotrader about 6 months ago.

Yep got one a couple days ago too. I deleted mine. These people are such ****tards. I mean could they be any more vague?

The check/money order the "buyer" sends you is worthless. The bank will not notice this until some time after you have cashed it and sent the extra money to the "buyer".

I got his email twice. Im sure its a scam, so is there any type of authority to report it too?

happened to me twice in one day. From autotrader on my car, and from craigslist for my TV. I actually hadnt heard of the scam before this. I had given them my address b4 I realized it sounded so shady. There's not any harm in them knowing my address is there? As long as I dont cash the check if it ever arrives?

happened to me to.... i was like wtf i didnt even kno what part he was talking about..... so i sent him an e-mail back saying he was a f*uckin tard
