Therefore, from what I'm understanding, it wouldn't be part of the 200,000 or so units North America is alotted. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's how Guy was telling us we would get our high volume coupe (Camaro).

As for where all this leaves certain vehicles, I'm not at liberty to say. But even so, it doesn't even really matter if a car is on Zeta or Sigma. It's going to fit the vehicle, and it will be the most efficient structure for that application.
BTW, I wouldn't put any money on Beta just yet. It's still just an idea, and I'd personally give it odds of no more than 50/50.

I should have emphasized upcoming cars, and I forgot the Cougar. I was under the impression Toyota was making an expensive near supercar.

Severally people jump on the Chevelle bandwagon, and with an 5.3L V8 powered SS version, who's to blame them? Still, others go with Mustang, GTO or Charger having given up completely on there ever being a 5th gen Camaro. Then 24-30 months from now, the new 2008 Camaro is announced and everyone that lost faith and bad mouthed GM starts kicking themselves.

I could definatly see that happening. I might get a next Gen GTO anyways depending on how it looks. If GM makes a GTO, Chevelle, and Camaro I'll basically buy based on looks, performance and price, not the name.

So if it is 2008 or 2009, It will have taken 6 - 7 years for GM to get the replacement out. That is a very long time!
It has been said before that it is highly possible to see a Chevy "Coupe" at NAIAS next year (2006) and that the "coupe" will go on sale that fall as a 2007. That is within 12 - 18 months away... Hmmmm...
There's alot of confusion going on lately regarding "Zeta". However, the problem isn't "Zeta, it's GM North America re-evaluating what it wants to do the 2nd half of the decade. Everything that's due to take place the next 12-18 months is locked in concrete. If it's due by late summer of 2006 as a 2007, it's a pretty sure thing it's going to be here. The Zeta sedans will be here for a couple of divisions within a couple of years.

On one hand, one of the cars Z28x mentioned doesn't seem like it's going to happen now. The other car at last hearing was on target for the end of the decade. But I still believe one of that group will be here by 2007 for 2008, being that we are still talking about 2 to 2 1/2 years from now. Plenty of time to develop a car based on another chassis.
