Well since a live rear axle is equal or superior in performance to an IRS I don't see why not, I think it would be awsome.

Solid axle is fine with me

Since Zeta is dead and GM is so bad off right now our Camaro is in very serious trouble. If a solid axle helps make a business case for pushing it forward, I am all for it. Nothing at all wrong with a solid axle if done right. You guys saying you would never buy one are overreacting I hope. Camaro has to be priced right compared to Mustang ya know, cant be in GTO $$$ territory, that wouldnt make sense.

I too think the new Mustang handles great in GT/solid axle form, especially for the price. Plus with the Stang you dont get wheel hop like you do in the GTO. Until fairly recently I was a full time third shift test driver at night for an unnamed corporation. I drove my first 05 stang almost 10 months ago, and had GTOs on hand for back to back comparisons. The stang outhandled the GTO in every category that had to do with performance, and was tons funner to drive at 9 and 10 tenths. It really felt a lot like my 3rd gen 1LE, which is a very good thing BTW!!!

The GTO is more of a Grand Touring machine, with much better interior fit and finish than the Stang, and is a heck of a bargain at $25K.

If GM makes IRS an option, that would be great, but if not, so what, say I.
