Ouch...you have to take into account that cell phone salesmen don't make the same amount of money as EE's. Still funny though, almost Pacer-like in venom.

My thinking was more along the lines of 325HP 5.3L V8 + 200HP electric motor(s). That'd spank a LS2 and hopefully get better mileage. I wouldn't object to a V6 or even a healthy forced-induction I4 (like the DI Ecotec), either.

To be honest, usually it's not possible to directly add the rated HP of the motors and IC engine together to get the maximum peak power, since each of the three devices peak at a different speed. That, of course, is the beauty of the hybrid approach.

It honestly wasn't intended to be mean, but if someone happens to take offense to it, I won't feel the least bit sorry. All this sh*t about bias-this and bias-that gets really damn annoying when all I'm trying to do is express my enthusiasm for cars (which, in this particular case, is strongly centered around an upcoming GM platform and an upcoming GM powertrain technology).

That doesn't stop Honda from doing it

Huh? Honda claims 253 HP and 232 lb-ft for the Accord Hybrid, versus 244 HP and 211 lb-ft for the standard Accord V6. The electric motor used in the Accord Hybrid is rated at 13.8kW, or about 18.5 HP. That would seem to indicate that Honda is not simply adding up the peak HP of the IC engine and the hybrid motor.

Those are under the new ratings system, I believe before they rated the car 255HP. 240HP for the gas engine, 15hp for the electric.
