no way. that's got to be the Durango restyle for the next model year.

EDIT: actually, does chevy really need this thing considering they already have the Equinox which is looking to be a success (and it should be). Aren't the Equinox and HHR too similar in dimentions and purpose to be sold together under the same brand? I understand the HHR is supposed to be a station wagon, but the difference between minivan, station wagon and "cute-ute" is so blurry these days that it's easy to mistake one for the other.

Although I predict some product clutter in the near future, I can see how this is very clever of GM. Taking a bite out of that PT Cruiser pie could be pretty effective if they do it right (Which it appears they are, as its based off the Delta). Its looks like an extended PT Cruiser IMHO.

Did you see this part?

GTO Going, Going, but Not Gone

General Motors has no intention of abandoning its reborn GTO badge, despite a slow start-up for the Australian-made muscle car. The GTO "is a permanent addition to thePontiac stable," GM's Bob Lutz, stressed during an interview with TheCarConnection.com. "Maybe in retrospect, we should have done a more retro (looking) car," the GM vice chairman added, but he forcefully emphasized that "the car is not a flop." If anything, Pontiac officials insist that the "Goat" is gaining momentum, especially in the critical California market. While dealers in import-oriented Los Angeles account for only 1.4 percent of total Pontiac sales nationwide, they generated 4.6 percent of the overall GTO volume through mid-July, according to company data. While Lutz declined to discuss future product plans, industry sources report that the next generation of Pontiac's muscle car will be much more aggressively styled than the current, jellybean-shaped two-door. GM has good reason to hang onto the GTO. Since it's adding incremental volume to a product already on sale in Australia, "It's making a lot of money," despite a slow start in the U.S., said Lutz. -Paul A. Eisenstein

How does an old-school coupe make it in the day of the hot hatch? Big power, that's how.

It's like they took the front of a pt cruiser crossed it with a crew cab truck then grafted the rear end of a mini van on the back.

Chevy says they aim to sell 100,000 HHRs a year.
Theyve gotta be kidding.

Looks like a fine car to go up against the PT, Honda Element, xB.

Why does Chevrolet get so many trucks/SUV products of its own, and GMC (the truck division) just gets just rebadged Chevys.

Hmmm...

I can't decide yet whether it looks hideous or acceptable. Have to see one in person before I'll make a final judgement.

I'm sure, however, that Chevy could use an affordable (I guess 23K is affordable to most...) retro in their lineup.

Or maybe they are a couple of years late... We'll see...

Some thoughts...

1. GM design team is FIRED. That thing need to go. Same with the Aztec, Avalanche, and anything else with obvious plastic on the exterior.

2. SSR sucks, shoulda spent the time and money or reworking the Camaro so they could make a profit on them rather than have inefficient production among other things lead to its demise.

3. Amen to that, no more SUVs. There's enough, just offer more options if they want to diversify.

4. PT Cruisers make me cry because they makeme realize what people are into when it comes to cars nowadays.

BTW, if it sounds like I am an old school muscle car advocate reactionary, I'm only 19 and I do like some of the new stuff thats been coming out. The Crossfire has my attention as well as the new 300 (mostly because it looks like a Bentley ). The Magnum looks kinda goofy but I guess it would be a cool family car. But good God GM! You guys gotta do better than that. With Dodge and Chrysler now in the mix, you are going to have to do more that add ANOTHER SUV to the line. Geez...
