I thought the Silverados were going to get composite fenders? When it this going to happen?

Is it the composite boxes you're thinking of? They did have those available on short-box models but their price put off a lot of buyers. I'm not even sure if it's still availabe. Last I heard they were going to make composite boxes in a long-box version, but I don't know if that ever happened.

No, I know about the boxes. A year or two ago I read an article about how GM was going to use composite front fenders of full size trucks

I was planning on getting a 1999 full size with a short box, is this going to cost me more than a long box. Might have to rethink the plan.
