Re: Is YOUR GM car or truck E85 compatible?
I've looked into this for my '94 and '98 Camaros (albeit, admittedly not as deeply as I would like).
According to what I've been told, the LS1 will run on E85 with a few plumbing changes. IIRC, the rubber gas lines have to be swapped for something else. Anyone know anything more?

I'm pretty sure all GM vehicles are good for 10% ethonal, but 85% is a completely differnt ball game...
I've got a LT1 and LS1... what would be required to run either on ethonal?
Re: Is YOUR GM car or truck E85 compatible?
From what information I've discovered not all trims of particular models are E85 compatible. In the models listed above the eight digit of the VIN indicates if the vehicle is E85 compatible.
http://www.e85fuel.com/information/vin.php
In our instance with a 2005 Tahoe 5.3 Z71 2WD the eight digit of the VIN is a "T" and not "Z". Thus not E85 compatible.
I've run across other information that stated 2WD Tahoes between 2003 and 2006 were E85 compatible (can't find the link), but it appears this all inclusive grouping is incorrect as well.
Just verify the VIN before you start dumping E85 into your vehicle and you should be safe.
If GM would like to swap my Tahoe out with a E85 compatible one, I'm game.

Re: Is YOUR GM car or truck E85 compatible?
The Yellow gas cap is a great idea. I hope they make it retroactive and give older cars a new cap when they come in for service. It is a great way to make customers aware of the fact that they can run E85. In fact it reminds them everytime they fill up.
Re: Is YOUR GM car or truck E85 compatible?
I'm kind of dissappointed my Cobalt isnt E85 compatible. Moreso suprised than anything. Slight reductions in economy dont mean squat compared to MORE POWER. Where's Tim Allen to grunt when you need him???
