Very interesting. I agree, the front clip needs a little attention, but overall it looks very nice. Love the rims!

wow. that car is beautiful. not to say anyone elses concepts are bad, but i love this one. it would make me reconsider my 'firebird' only f body rule. only thing i would like to see different, is either a fastback or a hatchback. its so much better looking imo then a standard coupe. if they went with a fastback they could go with a neat 2nd gen looking spoiler. very good looking as it is though.

i'd really like to see a firebird varient with either popup headlights (they're so cool!) or another design. perhaps 77-78 quad lamps? I'd like to see that in black (maybe even with gold perhaps?)

anyone notice it even makes the chevy crossbar look good? its not chrome and tacky, but body colored. i love it

The execution is first class. It looks like a professional's work.
The design is very good also, except for a few details.
I would wish the backlight area to be a bit faster; to tone down the slashes that arise from the wheel well openings (never liked them, even on the 1st gens); and the front end has to change. Either make it more modern or more retro to one of the previous generations.
I would also like to see a Pontiac version of the car.

I wonder how a productionized version of this car would look....ie, smaller wheels, taller greenhouse, revised front fascia, etc.

But, I gotta tell you, I think I'm really, really, liking this concept.
In another thread I said not only would I want the Camaro to not be embarassed next to the new Mustang, I want it to blow it away.

This Camaro concept, is just about there!

It looks pretty nice but I still find myself thinking the same thing I think about the '05 Mustang, it looks too model year-specific in its cues. The roofline and huge fender bulges in this rendition were part of Camaro for all of 3 years. It looks like a 1st gen with a 4th gen nose.

Actually, I personally see alot of 1st and 3rd gen influence...with alittle 2nd gen sprinkled in.....but wrapped in modern proportions. I see minimal 4th gen influence in that rendering.

All in all, an excellent rendition of a modern Camaro with links to it's heritage. I get the feeling that the artist has a true sense of where Camaro has been and where it may be going.

DAMN!!!!

I was just saying to myself this morning, "Self, I envision that the Gen-V Camaro should be a step forward in evolution from its Gen-IV predecessor. If it is going to have "nostalgic" or "retro" styling cues, they should be limited to '69 Camarolike wheel ridges and perhaps even a cowl induction hood. That's one thing I miss about the cowl hoods... even my buddy's slug '80 Z/28 sounded cool when he stomped the pedal and those cowl flaps opened with a lound "WHOMMMPPP!!!" Chevy really should try to resurrect that feeling."

This guy NAILED IT'LL!!! Even down to the the cross-bar Chevy so dyingly wishes to include on all its new cars. (I for one love the front bumper.)

Now... Just Build It!

Im not too much of a fan. Its very a very good looking car, but its too futuristic for my blood. There's a fine line between forward thinking and over done.

This is it. This should be the fifth gen. Even the cross bar grill was incorporated very well. I've never looked at a enthusiast's concept and thought it would work as the next camaro until this.

I like the effort put in, but I would like to suggest that some thought is put toward how the thing is actually going to look as built.

For instance, where is the fascia/front fender joint line? Hood and fender gap?

The front and rear fenders basically look nearly unmanufacturable. Can those indents be softened and still give the same effect? Is the A pillar diving underneath the fender? Where are the door handles?

Again, I like the work put in and applaud your skills, but I'd like to see you start using real proportions and achieve a similiar effect - that would be a killer if you can pull it off.

I'd love to see a productionized version too.

Thumbs up

Well the windshield rake is certainly 4th Gen-esque, and probably not very practical. If it means another huge dash and partially covered engine, forget it. The lip of the front bumper would likely be damaged by driveways (as with '96-97 RS ground effects). The omission of door handles was noted, and Corvette C3-style handles would probably look the best and fit the lines of the car.

The front does have a modern, edginess to it. The rear looks less original, but seeing a full shot of the rear may address that concern. It would have to display the same aggressiveness and edginess of the front without going too retro. But I approve of ditching the hatch for a trunk. Overall, a very attention-grabbing concept that captures the look and feel of "Camaro"...even if/or because of its heavy 1st gen cues. Right up there with the best we've seen. A toned down version that addresses the impracticalities would be a nice fit and rival for the '05 Mustang.
